Surrender Form

SURRENDER INFORMATION

All of us at CSRQ are mad Cocker Spaniel lovers and we understand how hard of a decision it can be to surrender your beloved Spaniel. Here’s an overview of our process and what to expect if you are considering surrendering your dog to CSRQ:

Complete and submit the CSRQ online surrender form https://www.cockerspanielrescue.com.au/surrender

The form will be reviewed by the CSRQ surrender team; considerations include, but are not limited to, Foster Carer availability, behavioural and medical issues.

A member of the surrender team will make contact with you, usually by telephone, to advise you if we can or cannot accept your dog into our care. If you prefer to communicate via text or email please state that preference on the surrender form.

Once our team have confirmed acceptance of your dog a pick up day/time will be agreed. Usually a CSRQ team member will pick up the dog - this may or may not be the assigned Foster Carer.

On the day of pick up, the surrender family will be required to sign a form giving CSRQ legal authority of the dog.

The dog will reside with a Foster Family; within the first week it will undergo a health check at a CSRQ approved Vet. If we accept a dog into our care with known medical issues we usually pre-arrange a Veterinary appointment within a day or two of the surrender.

Following Veterinary consultation and time for our foster carers to get to know the dog, rehoming decisions will be made and occasionally, due to age or health considerations, a surrender dog may become a ‘permanent foster’. This will see them remain permanently within the CSRQ group. If we deem the dog suitable for rehoming they will be advertised and suitable families vetted prior to the dog going on a 4 week trial.

What you can expect from us:
